Politecnico di Milano presents the Amber ATLAS in the Webinar series ‘Restoring river continuity: methods and open challenges’

Barbara Belletti (Politecnico di Milano), presented the AMBER project and its contribution for mapping and assessing river connectivity in rivers in the Webinar series ‘Restoring river continuity: methods and open challenges’ organized by Wetlands International – European Association and the Italian Center for River Restoration.

In particular, the session focused on the Amber ATLAS, a pan-European database of all existing barriers across Europe which is going to be built within Amber, based on existing national data properly validated during the project life. This represents a huge but necessary effort to provide the real picture of river fragmentation in European rivers and to inform future barrier monitoring and management. Wetlands International – European Association and the Italian Center for River Restoration invite you to join a series of webinars explaining methods and challenges of river restoration with a specific focus on improving river connectivity. The aim of these webinar series is to share best practices and promote the debate on new restoration approaches with governments, CSOs, knowledge-based organisations, other stakeholders and interested citizens, to ensure that effective solutions are taken up in water management.
