Professor Carlos Garcia de Leaniz, AMBER Coordinator and Director of CSAR at Swansea University, will give a talk on managing small salmon populations at the forthcoming conference on the state of our salmon being organized by Salmon and Trout Conservation Cymru next Monday, April 8th at the Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, Builth Wells, Powys, LD2 3SY

2019 has been designated the International Year of the Salmon, and given the drastic and widespread decline of Atlantic salmon in Wales and elsewhere, urgent actions are needed to hprec our wild salmon. With +35 years experience working on the conservation of this emblematic species, Prof Garcia de Leaniz will discuss whether there are telltales of impending salmon extinctions and provide a practical overview of what can be done to halt the decline of this iconic species
