VI JORNADAS DE INGENIERÍA DEL AGUA
October 22, 2019 - October 25, 2019
Water Engineering is the essential technical support to achieve the objective of proper water management, an increasingly valued resource. This requires developing brilliant and innovative solutions that allow satisfying the needs of society in a sustainable and efficient way, improving resilience to extreme and changing scenarios, fostering the circular economy, and within the context of the knowledge society. Therefore, it has an interdisciplinary and multisectoral character that requires for its effective development of meeting points where dialogue between the main technical agents is facilitated, such as Universities, Companies and Administration. The Water Engineering Workshops (JIA) were created in 2009 to respond to this need and have now consolidated as biennial meetings of a scientific-technical nature that bring together the best national and international experts. They are promoted jointly by the Foundation for the Promotion of Water Engineering (FFIA) and the Spanish Chapter of the International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR). After the previous editions held in Madrid (Center for Studies and Experimentation of Public Works -CEDEX-, 2009), Barcelona (Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, 2011), Valencia (Universitat Politècnica de Valencia, 2013), Córdoba (University of Córdoba, 2015) and A Coruña (Universidade da Coruña, 2017), the VI JIA will be celebrated in 2019 in Toledo (University of Castilla-La Mancha). The organization of the VI JIA is assumed by the Water Engineering Group of the E.T.S.I. Roads, Canals and Ports of Ciudad Real in collaboration with the Spin-Off of the Hidralab UCLM. In addition to the four thematic lines around which these days usually revolve, the monographic theme of this edition is “Water Engineering 4.0”.
