AMBER citizen science regional event – Spain, Living with barriers

Ina river area affected by two impassable barriers and reservoirs, and coinciding with an event organized within the World Fish Migration Day initiative (https://www.worldfishmigrationday.com/events/1222/living-with-barriers-the-trout-game-viviendo-con-barreras-el-juego-de-la-trucha), theapp for river barrier inventory BARRIERTRACKER will be presented in the AMBER case study River Nalon. First the app will be explained to general public including adults, children, local authorities and members of fishermen associations that have been contacted beforehand and invited to the event. The presenters will be Eva Garcia-Vazquez and Sara Fernandez. Then a demonstration of how the app works in practice will be carried out by the river -guided by Elena Arboleya and Sara Fernandez.

The event will start at 11:00 in the Cultural Center “Vicente Alvarez”. The Council of Sobreescobio (http://www.sobrescobiu.org/) is involved in the event supporting it with the cession of the location. Organizer: University of Oviedo.
