Final Congress LIFE TRivers project

Most of the river network of the Mediterranean region is formed by temporary rivers. However, the tools we have to evaluate the ecological status have been developed for rivers with permanent flow. That’s why the managers must find new formulas to be able manage this type of water bodies correctly.
The LIFE TRivers project (http://www.lifetrivers.eu/) has met this challenge through collaboration between scientists and managers and has developed an operationally tested software tool (TREHS, Temporary Rivers’ Ecological and Hydrological Status) which is designed to adequately implement the Water Framework Directive in this kind of water bodies. The final congress of the project will be celebrated on the 3rd and 4th May 2018 in Barcelona. The results will be presented and discussedtogether with experts at an international level.
